Default Fiance Visa help, CA, USA/SaiGon, Vietnam

Hi All,

My name is Jason. I subtmitted I-129 (petition for fiance) for my darling
Vietnamese fiance (Hanh), to the CA Service Center on June 11, 2002. I received my
"Approval Notice" on August 16, 2002. The Approval notice states my petition has
been forwarded to Ho Chi Minh city U.S. Consulate. And, that the approval notice is
valid from
8/15/2002 - 12/15/2002.

I do not not what is going to be requested of my Vietnamese fiance. I am not sure
what I do next. What paperwork should she expect to have to produce? Will I need to
get my Affidavit of Support completed and sent to her? How long from the approval
letter, did fiance receive interview?

I would like to hear from US citizens that have already gone through the process.
That is, obtianed a K-1 Visa for Vietnamese fiance. Any information or
suggestions to share?

I have visited her last year and this year too. And, I will be visiting her this
October...10/09-10/29/. Can I do anything when in Saigon to help process?

Would like to hear from others with experiences similiar to mine. Thanks.

Jason

I am not sure of the process for Ho Chi Minh but you can try contacting them to get
your answers. I pulled this off their site:

The Information Unit of the Consular Section handles all public inquiries regarding
both immigrant and nonimmigrant visa information.

Information Unit:

U.S. Consulate General 4 Le Duan, District 1 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Tel:

Hi Jason from Saigon,
Because I'm currently in the process of applying for the K-1 and we plan to get married next year. Just startting my paperwork...
I would like to make friend with you and your fiance. Especially with Hanh, cuz I'm Saigon girl. Could I ? So you see we are on the same boat... It would be nice if I have some new friend.
If you don't mind please write to me at [email protected]
Best wish,
Dieu

Here is a site for Asia/American couples.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Asian_American_Couples/

You should be able to get specific answers to your questions.
